Here are 3 waterfalls that are well worth a visit. Enjoy nature with the peaceful sound of flowing water.

El Molinar, Alcoy

It’s a place where you can discover the industrial remains of old flour mills and fulling mills right in the middle of nature. This was an ideal location for mills, as the large quantities of water available made it possible to grind wheat quickly. As you stroll along, you’ll find a large waterfall and several streams running downhill. It’s highly recommended to visit in autumn, especially after torrential rains, to fully appreciate the phenomenon. Behind the beautiful building, if we continue along the path, we’ll find an old dam and aqueduct, a small spring water source and the remains of the first industrial buildings in the Molinar basin, the so-called First Water mills, some 18th-century paper and flour mills built on the remains of the old 15th-century Ferro fulling mill.

Cascada de Orbaneja del Castillo

Located in the province of Burgos, the Orbaneja del Castillo waterfall is one of the most beautiful in Spain. The waterfall is located on the River Ebro and flows spectacularly down through the village, forming pools and small waterfalls along the way. Hiking around the waterfall offers incredible views of the village and the surrounding gorge. The sound of water has made Orbaneja del Castillo one of the best-known villages in the province of Burgos. The dozens of trails linking the different areas of the Parque Natural de las Hoces del Alto Ebro y Rudrón offer a wide range of possibilities for all tastes. One of the most popular routes is the Rudrón River Gorge, a linear trail that follows the winding course of the river for 9 km.

Cascada del Nervión

The Cascada del Nervión is the highest waterfall in Spain, with a drop of 222 meters. It is located between the provinces of Burgos and Álava, in the Monte Santiago Natural Park. The waterfall attracts numerous hikers and tourists all year round. The scenery is even more impressive after heavy rain or thaw. Like most places, the Salto del Nervión can be reached from a number of different areas, but the easiest and busiest route is from the urban center of Orduña to the top of the port of the same name.

If you are an amator of hiking, don’t hesitate and go admire these waterfall which are making a peaceful environment in the heart of nature.

After a short spell of cold and rain, it’s now warm and sunny in Madrid ! What could be better than relaxing on the water in a kayak ? On most of the sites presented, you can choose to kayak for an hour or two, either under the supervision of an instructor or on your own. Here is our list of the best places to kayak in Madrid.

Embalse and Pantano de San Juan

It is surrounded by an environment that provides serenity and tranquillity, ideal for taking a break. You can enjoy this beautiful view and setting from the heart of the reservoir on your kayak. Since it’s a reservoir, paddling doesn’t require too much effort, so you can enjoy the moment to the full. You can choose between a single or double-seater kayak. After this effort, you can relax in the shade of the pine forest.

Picadas

Located in the foothills of the Sierra Norte, Embalse de Picadas is the perfect place to escape the heat and noise of the city. Also like the previous one, it’s tank-based, so it requires no experience and little effort to get around. So, once again, you can take full advantage of this moment to relax and enjoy yourself. You can even swim in it.

Do you love nature, hiking and kayaking? We’ve got just the thing for you, with a day organized by us where you can enjoy sharing the experience with other people and our guides.

Hoces del Río Duratón Natural Park

Despite being further from Madrid, it’s well worth the detour. It’s a popular destination for nature lovers. Take a stroll through the gorges, with the cliffs surrounding you. You’ll be able to observe wildlife up close. The clear waters are ideal for kayaking ! What’s more, the canyon’s cliffs are home to Europe’s largest colony of griffon vultures. Today, 700 pairs of vultures circle the sickles or watch from their nests in the walls, And you’re sure to catch a glimpse of one!

Lozoya

More precisely located in the Pinilla reservoir, with a magnificent view of the Sierra de Guadarrama. You can bring your children and even your pets, who can ride in your kayak at a reduced price. Other activities include tree climbing and zip-lining.

Casa de campo

Located in the very heart of the capital, Casa de campo also offers kayaking in a different style. The park offers classic kayaking, but if you’re looking for a more physical activity, we’ve got just what you’re looking for. There’s also kayak polo, which, as the name suggests, combines the two sports. The rules are explained on site by an instructor who supervises the game. How about it?

Río Jarama

We continue on the sporty side with this itinerary on Río Jarama. If kayaking isn’t just a leisurely stroll on calm waters, you’re in for a treat. With rapids, branches to dodge and the occasional uprooted tree, this route can be quite complicated. It’s best suited to those with kayaking experience and an eye for adventure.

Spring started a while ago and summer is just around the corner. It’s the time of year when flowers are in full bloom and we can admire nature’s spectacular display. We’re lucky in Madrid, with fields of the most beautiful flowers and places where you can see them in large quantities, making for a peaceful setting. Here is the list of the best places to see flowers in Madrid.

Marguerite

Marguerite is usually associated with love and sorrow, hence the game of plucking the petal and thinking ‘He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me,…’. This flower is typical of early spring, and can be found in many places where there are patches of grass. The flowering season is very long, from March to September. If you want to find them in Madrid, go to Retiro Park, El Capricho or almost anywhere in Madrid Rio.

Roses

The rose is without doubt the most iconic flower of all. Whether you’re giving a flower to your loved one or to your mother, it’s the one that immediately springs to mind, for its beauty, color and fragrance. But we’re more used to finding them at the florist’s than in the wild. Fortunately, there are several beautiful rose gardens in Madrid where you can enjoy them to the full. You can visit the one in the Retiro Park once again, or the one in the Parque del Oeste, which is perhaps more abundant. The latter was awarded the Garden Excellence prize by the World Federation of Rose Societies in 2006.

Lavender

Brihuega is home to Spain’s most beautiful and famous lavender fields. We’ve talked about it before, but this field is well worth talking about again. Lavender blooms in summer, and the ideal time to contemplate this magnificent landscape is from late June to mid-July. These lavender fields cover vast expanses of land, creating a magnificent purple landscape.

In town, you’ll find lavender everywhere, on balconies, streets and doorways. There’s even a market selling lavender perfumes, soaps and cookies.

There’s also a festival! For more information, click here.

🎟Book your trip to Brihuega with us now !🎟

Sunflower

As its name suggests, this flower is associated with the sun. Auxin, a plant hormone, produces the phenomenon that gives the impression that the flower follows the sun and looks at it, but this phenomenon stops when it reaches maturity. Although not found directly in the capital, sunflower fields can also be found in Brihuega, Altos Campos de Gómara and Toledo’s Castillo de Malpica del Tajo.

Its flowering period starts later than other flowers, from late summer, mid-August, to early autumn.

Tulip

For those who know or are interested in flower symbolism, the red tulip, like the rose of the same color, is a symbol of passion and intense love. It’s the ideal flower for Valentine’s Day, or for making a grand declaration of love. The white tulip, on the other hand, represents sincere, pure and idealistic love. The ones you can find in Madrid can be found in the Royal Botanical Garden, which boasts over 17,000 of these flowers in its flowerbeds.

Poppy

This flower, which blooms at altitudes of up to 1700m, has become a traditional symbol of freedom and adaptability and willpower. The poppy generally blooms twice a year, once from April to May and again from September to October. The biggest and most beautiful poppies you’ll see near Madrid are to be found near Toledo, in Polan.

Cactus

When we think of cacti, we obviously think of their great resilience and low maintenance. They’re the ideal gift for someone who doesn’t know how to look after plants. It’s often forgotten that cacti flower and offer beautiful blooms. They generally flower at the hottest time of the summer. The best place to see them is Desert City, which boasts a magnificent botanical garden filled with cacti.

For all you nature lovers out there, the choice is yours when you decide to visit your favorite flowers in or near Madrid. Take a look at our destinations, and we’ll organize a trip to Brihuega to see the lavender fields at their best. Several dates are available!

Are you looking for a party in Madrid ? If the answer is yes, we got you ! There are so much places and clubs to make good party in the capital and it can be confusing. So, we reunited the best clubs in Madrid for you !

Teatro Kapital

As its name suggests, it was originally a theater. But today, Kapital is one of Madrid’s nightlife hotspots. Located on Calle de Atocha in the center of Madrid, it’s surely the capital’s most impressive for its size. In fact, it has 7 floors, each with its own atmosphere and decorations. You’ll find music to suit every style. In the main room, you’ll find hits, house and dance music; on the 2nd floor, karaoke; on the 3rd, the apartment; on the 4th, the kissing room; on the 5th, reggaeton and commercial music. And finally, on the top 2 floors you’ll find a restaurant and a terrace. Other club events include charity events and fashion shows.

Teatro Barceló

The club has a long history and a great reputation in Madrid. Like Kapital, this club is housed in a former theater, and the building has been declared an asset of cultural interest by the community of Madrid. It can also be seen in films and series such as Elite on Netflix. It has 3 rooms, each with its own unique atmosphere. There’s the main room, with its 3 bars and stage with tables, the Scotch room, which is much smaller but has a different kind of music to the main room, and finally the famous El Cielo room, spread over two floors, which mainly hosts events. The club is in the heart of Tribunal.

Shoko

This is one of Madrid’s most popular clubs, located in the Latina district. Each night has a different theme. The best-known night is, of course, Fucking Monday, which every Monday brings together all those who want to party to start the week. It’s a very international evening, with many students from all over the world coming to study in Madrid. Shoko covers an area of around 2000m² and has several accessible floors. In the main hall, you’ll find the most popular music of the moment. If you’re more of a Latino music fan, head up to the second floor and let yourself be carried away ! As you move through the hall, you’ll find balconies that go all the way around the main hall, giving you an all-round view.

Fabrik

Located on the outskirts of Madrid, Fabrik offers 2 huge hangar-like halls for up to 4,000 people. Sound, light, everything is there, including huge smoke machines. The club mainly features electronic music and related genres. Fabrik also invites many famous DJs to come and liven up your parties.

Icon

Located just 5 minutes’ walk from Puerta del Sol, this club is ideal for a night out in the center. Evenings take place mainly on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Currently, you’ll find Project X on Tuesdays, Icon University on Thursdays, Almost Famous on Fridays and Saturday Spirit on Saturdays. The music is varied and international. Whether you’re in the mood for a meal with friends, family or a romantic dinner, there’s always a good reason to go out to eat. Spanish gastronomy is quite renowned and well worth discovering. So here’s our list of the best places where to eat near Madrid.

Cercedilla

Located in the northwest of the capital, Cercedilla is renowned for its meat, especially that from the Sierra de Guadarrama. The region is also known for its artisanal cheeses, such as Manchego and Cabrales, as well as a variety of dairy products like fresh milk and creamy yogurts.

Buitrago de Lozoya

This historic town, which has preserved its city walls, is also well worth a visit for its food. Montejo beans are one of the specialties, although they are sometimes associated with other towns. We recommend you try the beans with black pudding, chorizo and local vegetables. To try this and other dishes, El Espolón and El Asador las Murallas are the two restaurants to try.

San Lorenzo del Escorial

Although Madrid also has a number of restaurants that serve it, this is the city to try the stew. The best stews can be found at Asador del Rey and El Charolés. The traditional way to enjoy this dish is to pour the ragout soup into your pasta and then eat the chickpeas with chorizo, bacon and black pudding.

La Hiruela

This is now a very popular spot for the capital’s residents and tourists alike. With its beautiful scenery, it attracts a lot of people, so it’s best to make a reservation if you’re planning to eat there. You can enjoy potatoes with Soria torrezno, followed by old-fashioned wild boar or cod loin with ratatouille.

Campo Real

In addition to the meats and other dishes we’ve already mentioned, this town is also home to a local product: olives. You’ll be able to discover it with special artisanal vinaigrettes made with fennel, thyme, oregano and garlic, which are different for each producer. Campo Real olives have also been awarded a Quality Label by the Community of Madrid.

Chinchon

We’ve mentioned all the savoury dishes, but not the sweet ones… So we’re back again to Chinchon, which we mentioned in our list of big-screen scenes filmed in Spain. Famous for its Plaza Mayor, Chinchon is also famous for its pastries and sweets, such as novice’s tit and monk’s balls.

So, now you know where to go if you want to discover more of the spanish gastronomy or if you just want to eat well in beautiful places with this list of ‘Where to eat near Madrid’ !
